| Description |
Perennial with tuber to 15 cm in diameter, lacking offsets. Leaf solitary or paired, with smooth fleshy petiole to 1 m long, dark grey-green, spotted dull white and sometimes flushed pink. Blade to 1.5 m across with leaflets elongate elliptic to 25 cm long and 13 cm wide, sometimes with pinkish margins, developing bulbils at major divisions. Peduncle to 10-70 cm long, coloured as petiole. Erect ovate spathe to 30 cm long and 20 cm wide; outer surface grey-green with pink flush, marked with tiny black-green dots and large confluent whitish spots; inside dark pink, becoming paler and dull white towards top. Ovoid pinkish spadix 8-25 cm long and 2.5 cm thick, emitting gaseous stench during female phase. |
